History
LEGENDLI is a non-governmental organization with the core mandate of conducting qualitative research into various fields of law, advocacy, and gender rights issues especially as it relates to women and children. The Initiative is designed to raise a generation of well informed and accountable leaders in all facets of life.
LEGENDLI is a restructured version of Centre for Strategic Legal Research and Advancement (CSLRA). CSLRA which was established and licensed to operate in 2001 with the aim of improving the lives of people through legal orientation, training and inspiring respect for the rule of law, organized diverse seminars, trainings and workshops for different groups of people in the society. CSLRA was outstanding in the field of public development and delivery of lectures and trainings on various issues of law and was one of the three NGOs selected by Akwa Ibom State Judiciary between the years 2007-2008 to create orientation in the view for the establishment of the Akwa Ibom State Multi-Door Court House. CSLRA was restructured, expanded and transformed into LEGENDLI in 2017 (Reg No ) which is concerned about Gender issues and training of accountable leaders in the society.
Most importantly, LEGENDLI is focused on producing the GENDER AND LEADERSHIP JOURNAL (GALJ) to generate modern publications about the insufficiency of qualitative research into various aspects of law in the society. The Initiative is one to be reckoned with. Our motto which aptly describes us is “Equipping all for Justice and Service”.
