AMANIM AKPABIO ESQ, Ph.D, NP, C.P.O.N (Harvard)

Dr. Amanim Akpabio is a distinguished Legal Practitioner, Notary Public for
Nigeria, Law Lecturer, Trained Negotiator and Leader of developmental Non-
Governmental Organizations (NGOS), Amiable Public Speaker and Researcher.
He was the former Chairman of the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the
Nigerian Bar Association, Uyo Branch. He served as a Researcher with
Advocates International, USA. He served as a Board Member of Network of
Universities Legal Aid Institutions (NULAI) under the Leadership of Professor
Ernest Ojukwu SAN as the President and he served as Coordinator of Clinical
Legal Education, Faculty of Law, University of Uyo. He holds a Doctorate degree in
Law where his thesis bordered mainly on women's rights and constitutional law.He
furthered his quest for Conflict Resolution Mechanisms and obtained a certificate
after completing training in Negotiation under the Programme on Negotiation
(PON) at the Harvard Law School, USA. He is a member of the Centre for Gender
Studies Advisory Board at the University of Uyo and also a member of the NBA
disciplinary committee. He is the General Coordinator of the Platform For Greatness
Outreach ( PLAGRO)which is a nondenominational Christian network. PLAGRO has
organized workshop trainings and community development programmes in some states
in Nigeria.

Dr. Akpabio is also the President and Founder of Legal Research, Gender
Rights and Leadership Initiative (LEGENDLI). He is the Author of several
academic and inspirational works. He is married to Edu Akpabio, a lawyer and
Human Resources Consultant. The marriage is blessed with four children.

EDU AKPABIO LLB, B.L. M.SC

Mrs. Edu Akpabio is a versatile solicitor with over 17 years post call experience.
She currently holds a Master of Science in Management (Human Resources) from
UMUC, USA. She has been exposed to several areas of legal practice including
research, legal documentation and litigation. Her commitment to thoroughness
makes her an independent asset to LEGENDLI. She has had a stint with Paul
Usoro & Co and also served with the Law Department of Mobil Producing Nigeria
Unlimited, Qua Iboe Terminal, where she gathered a lot of experience. Mrs.
Akpabio has participated in national and international conferences and is involved
in the activities of CLASFON, Advocates Africa and Advocates International,
USA. Apart from litigation and corporate practice, she has a lot of multi-
disciplinary exposure and has series of trainings, medals and certifications from
USA on criminal justice and health-related practices which all add value to
LEGENDLI.

CLARA ANIETIE BENSON LLB, B.L

Prior to forming the NGO, Mrs. Clara worked with Jurists Consult, Minna, Niger
State where she was exposed to Human Rights Litigation, Debt Recovery and
Islamic Personal Law. She was also privileged to have her tutelage in a renowned
law firm in Calabar (LEX FORI PARTNERS) under the Principal Partnership of
Chief Asam Asam, S.A.N. There she was exposed to legal research, drafting and
corporate practice in general. She has undergone sundry trainings on ICT, ADR
and has gained considerable experience in vital areas of the law which include
Ligitation, Property Management, Probate Practice, Arbitration and Negotiation.
